Epsom salt is something I see a lot on beauty recipes for DIY home care tricks. But what is Epsom salt and what does it do, really? These salts are also known as magnesium sulfate and because of that, they are a great source of magnesium. For beauty purposes, Epsom salt has several great effects that other more high-end products do not offer. Here are some of the ways on how you can use Epsom salt for your DIY home care beauty regimen: • Have a relaxing bath. Add about a cup of Epsom salt to your warm bath and soak in it for twenty minutes. You’ll be relaxed when you get out! Magnesium works as a great stress buster since it can help add some magnesium levels to your body. Your energy levels will increase while also lowering your blood pressure, so it will give you an overall rejuvenating experience.
• You can also use Epsom salt as a great hair volumizer. Simply mix some Epsom salt and water and place it in a spray bottle. You can spritz some into your hair to give it more volume.
• Use Epsom salts as a rejuvenating body scrub. The crystals can function as massaging beads and when used on skin which has been pre-moistened, it can also help achieve an overall exfoliating effect. Because of this, you can also use it as a foot soak. When used as a foot soak, it helps take away pain, blisters, and rough skins all in one go. If you have tired feet, just add some Epsom salt to a basin of warm water for that rejuvenating soak.
• If you have a splinter, you can add some Epsom salt to some water and soak the affected area. It will help pull the splinter out.
• An Epsom salt facial cleanser can also be used if you want an enhanced cleansing experience. You can mix about half a teaspoon of Epsom salt to your cleansing cream and massage it into your skin before rinsing.
