Lipstick does add definition to your overall look. I personally need some of it a lot of times since I’m usually kind of pale, but I have to admit that it does get tiring to wear and so I apply lipstick sometimes. That’s why I’ve sought out other alternatives which can be used to have a nice color to my lips without relying solely on lipstick. Here are some of my picks:
- Lip liner – Your lip liner or lip pencil can actually double as a kind of matte lip color. If you want to rock the matte lip look, this is the way to go. It may take some time getting used to applying it since it’s got a finer point, but once you get used to it, it will be a breeze to fill in your lips with your chosen color. This product also lasts longer basing on my experience.
- Lip stain – This can either be in tube or liquid form, and if you want a kind of transparent shading to your lips, the liquid form works well. Just dot some of the product and spread it with the applicator or the tip of your finger. Remember to wash it off from your finger though!
- Tinted lip balm – This is probably the easiest and friendliest alternative. Lip balms come in a lot of cute shades like red, pink, and orange, so you can still have a nice color to your lips when you apply them. This is actually my go-to product when I’m in a rush since you can easily apply it even when you aren’t looking at yourself in a mirror! It’s also hydrating, so that’s definitely a plus during the winter season for additional lip protection.
- Petroleum jelly with eye shadow – Yes, I know this is clear, but the trick is to combine it with some old eye shadow you have lying around unused. You can mix your own colors by doing this! If you want a unique looking lip gloss, this is the trick for you. Finely crush some eye shadow and mix it with petroleum jelly before storing it in a container.
There you have it, friendly and effective lipstick alternatives!
