Let’s take a look at a few of the beauty mistakes we all make from time to time. There are simple corrections we can use to fix them as well as a few tips for prevention. After all, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
There you are, innocently applying your makeup for the day, when suddenly it looks like you are auditioning for Ringling Brothers! You have the telltale clown blush and you have to head out the door in sixty seconds. Have no fear, it can be fixed (and prevented the next time).
- Correction: If you have applied too much powder blush, simply take a dry cotton pad and lightly buff it down. If you used a cream blush, a damp makeup sponge will help blend it out to a beautiful flush instead of the clown spots. A stain can be a little more difficult, but can be helped. Dampen a sponge with water and then add a touch of foundation. Blend this translucent foundation over the blush until you have reached your desired color.
- Prevention: Start lightly; there is no other way to say it. Most blushed are very buildable so it is always much easier to start with a light application and then add a little more if you want a deeper flush to your cheeks. This is especially true with a stain since, by definition, it stains the skin.
And we hope that you are not merely applying yours to the center of your cheeks a la clown spots to begin with. Remember to blend the color from the apple back to your temple for the most natural flush. As a bonus tip, remember that these corrections and preventions work for bronzer as well as blush.
