Makeup can be really quite expensive especially if you go for branded items! I prefer having basic makeup which for me includes a good foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick. Having some eye shadow, blush on, and bronzers are great as well especially when you want a more polished look. Since makeup can be quite heavy on the pocket, here are some beauty hacks to save on makeup and make yours last longer:

• Consider buying drugstore makeup. Nothing is wrong with buying drugstore makeup, and when you know which kind to flatter your skin tone and overall look the best, even drugstore makeup can make you look like a magazine cover girl!
• Use up those mascara tubes as much as you can. Sometimes, mascara would tend to dry up over time especially when you haven’t used them in a while. The product would become clumpy and hard to use. You may even think that the tube is empty. Get a glass of hot water and dip your mascara tube in there for about 10-15 minutes. This would allow the hot temperature to kind of melt the product away and allow you to use it some more!
• Plan when you buy your makeup. Even expensive makeup stores have their own sale periods. Purchase makeup when they’re on sale and you will get the same branded quality without having to spend too much money on it! If you see coupons on magazines and other promos, you can go for those too and save some money on your purchase.
• If your foundation or pressed powder cracks and becomes difficult to use, it can be a hassle to bring it in your bag because the product will be everywhere. Take some alcohol and mash your foundation with it. Make sure you have no lumps that will make your foundation have a thick and pasty consistency. Allow the product to sit and dry overnight. The alcohol will evaporate and will leave you with a whole cake of powder or foundation!
