It took me a long time before I felt comfortable wearing the scarves that had accumulated in my closet. I thought so many of them were pretty in the store, but when it came to putting them on, I was at a loss for a long time. I’ve finally been able to integrate these beautiful accessories into my wardrobe! Most of the scarves that I wear are very long rectangles so that is the bulk of my experience in styling them.
- One of the easiest ways I have found is to bunch the scarf up lengthwise, and then fold it in half. With the loose ends on one shoulder and the loop on the other, I feed the loose ends through and cinch it down.
- My other fallback style is to lay one side along one shoulder and loop the remainder around my neck until it circles snugly and the loose ends hang straight down from underneath.
- And of course, you can always wear them simply draped straight down both sides.
I do have one square scarf in the collection and I tend to wear that one the same way every time although I’m certain there are other ways. I have wrapped the scarf on itself until it is a tight coil, and then I simply tie it around my neck.
Infinity scarves are an excellent way to start if you are new. They are simple loops that you drape around your neck. No styling required!
One of the reasons I like to wear scarves is that they are a fun way to quickly update or change the entire look of an outfit. Many of my clothes tend to be simple basics, so having a variety of colored scarves really livens things up.
