Some months back, I made a vow to eat healthier meals but what I found out was that making healthy meals took time and planning. I was bummed because there were some days that I really just didn’t have the time to make a healthy meal and I didn’t want to eat a salad or a smoothie either. This was a massive problem for me but it disappeared the day I made my first visit to Trader Joe’s. I remember thinking that finally I could go somewhere and enjoy healthy food that did not cost me an arm and a leg.
The first thing I noticed about Trader Joe’s was that it was huge and I felt a bit overwhelmed at first. After a few minutes of walking around and trying to orient myself, I realized that I had everything I needed to eat healthy. When I say “everything,” I mean it since they had everything from breads to spreads, to wine and soups.
Needless to say, I have been going there regularly and have made a list of the things I love the most! Have a look at my list below!
My Trader Joe’s Hit List
- Speculoos Cookie Butter Spread (Crunchy) – This is a wonderful spread that I enjoy with or without bread. I have been guilty of eating it straight from the jar. What I like about this is that it is not too sweet and it has a hint of spicy gingerbread. I have a jar or two in the cupboard for emergency purposes.
- Joe Joe’s Cookies – They have a whole line of cookies but my favorite has to be the vanilla ones because they taste almost like Oreos only I know that they are so much better for me. As an added bonus, these cookies are really affordable.
- Reduced Guilt Chunky Guacamole – I love guacamole but had to stop when I made my healthy eating vow. With this guacamole, I do not feel nearly as bad about indulging my love for dip every now and then. I even buy this when my friends come over and they love it too!
