I have been hearing a great deal of buzz about this weight loss supplement called Garcinia Cambogia and how it’s supposedly the HG of weight loss. Well, I am a skeptic and before I join the bandwagon, I need to know more about the product and how it is supposed to work. I mean, I will be ingesting it into my body so I have to be careful, don’t you agree?
What I Learned
I learned that Garcinia Cambogia is a small fruit shaped like a pumpkin that grows in Indonesia and some parts of Southeast Asia and south Asia. What makes it remarkable is that it has this thing called “hydroxycitric acid” or HCA which is one of its main active ingredients. It is said that this active ingredient blocks fat and also suppresses the appetite. It is also said to inhibit something called “citrate lyase” which is a key enzyme that the body uses to make fat out of carbs. What this fruit does is it suppresses the appetite by adding to the serotonin levels in the body. According to studies, low serotonin levels are linked to depression, along with reactive eating and emotional eating. Some studies have also shown that this supplement helps decrease belly fat and helps increase lean muscle mass so in a way, it is not just a weight loss supplement but also works to help improve overall health.
So many people swear by this product while others say it does absolutely nothing. So you see why I remain a bit skeptical. What I did next was to read what the user said and I realized that the key to Garcinia Cambogia is to not treat it like a miracle pill. It is just a supplement that works to boost weight loss plans that mix a healthy diet with exercise. Some people think that just because it blocks the fatty enzyme they can gorge on food but that is just not the case. Others who say it failed didn’t follow the instructions too well and others got bogus pills (or so they said!). As for me, I think I’m open to giving it a try as soon as I find a legit product.
