Most women I know that have gotten married took great pains to ensure that nothing went wrong on their big day. I realize that it really was one of the most special of days and it only stands that they want everything to go right. However, as a famous writer once said “the best laid plans of mice and men go awry,” in the case of weddings, they really do go awry.
I said it once and I will say it again because when it comes to weddings, everything that can go wrong will try to go wrong as a bride, you can either lose your lid or you can anticipate the things that will go wrong so you and your wedding planner can fix things before they get out of hand.
Common Wedding Mishaps and Solutions
- A sloppy guest spilled red wine on your gown. Do you know that when you have a pristine, white gown that costs thousands of dollars, the tiniest speck of red wine can look like a beacon? Well, if a guest spills red wine on your wedding gown, it is useless to cry over spilled milk (or wine). What you can do is to stock up on stain removal wipes since they work on most stains in a pinch. You may also carry a professional stain removal kit with you or have the Maid of Honor hold one.
- You rip your gown’s hem on the way to the reception. Imagine ripping the hem of your thousand-dollar gown? That is horrible but it is also one that you can fix in no time especially if you have a sewing kit with you. Make sure you have thread that is the same color as your gown just to be sure. If you do not have the time to sew, you may always use double-sided tape.
- The room starts to spin as you are at the altar. This is more common than you think and it is not just due to nerves. For one, when you stand for a long time, blood pools to your feet and so oxygen doesn’t go to the brain. What you can do is grab a seat ASAP so you do not fall flat on your face.
