It is a new year so a fresh full bank of vacation days awaits! Where will you go this year? Of course there are those days that must be reserved for doctor’s appointments or parent-teacher conferences but the rest are for fun.
It is a good time to refresh those travel bags, tossing makeup and skincare that may have expired and making sure that the infamous 3-1-1 bag does not actually contain three tubes of lotion instead of just the one. Change out the dryer sheets that are stored in the suitcases to keep them fresh, and make sure that all of the necessary accessories (the phone chargers, the curling iron protection sleeve, the RFID wallet, etc.) are ready to go for a spur-of-the-moment getaway.
But most importantly, where will you spend your priceless and well-deserved time off? It has been earned through your hard work!
A cruise can take you to places you might never visit otherwise; a week in Paris can be filled with art and culture and fine dining; sightseeing in Washington, D.C. can reveal snippets of history that you might never have discovered elsewhere; a cross-country motorcycle ride or RV trip can give you the flexibility to visit the small out-of-the-way places that are not on any tour guide’s map; a long weekend in Las Vegas can provide endless entertainment.
Will you take the whole family? Will you go to visit relatives? Will you make your adventure solo? Or perhaps just with your significant other?
As we sit only a few days in to the new year, it stretches out in front, filled with seemingly endless possibilities. Where will you allow this year to take you? To the neighbor’s backyard or to a country on the other side of the world?
