Whether you have scrubbed, chemical-ed, or enzyme-ed, you want to do everything you can to maintain that radiant glow. There is one sure-fire way to help keep your skin as fresh as possible and that is the application of daily sunscreen of at least SPF 15. After removing those sun-induced signs of aging, you want to make sure they don’t return.
I also highly recommend using a restorative cream or oil to nourish and moisturize that lovely skin. I prefer to do my exfoliating at night so that I can apply a nice soothing face oil and let it soak in overnight. Then, of course, I apply my sunscreen in the morning. I rarely leave the house without my protection anyway, whether I have exfoliated or not.
A quick note: while we have focused on the ways to exfoliate the face and neck, please remember that all of these methods work from the neck down too. If you want to make your hands look younger, try the One Minute Manicure which includes the bonus of moisturizing oils! I love using this one before bed and then just massaging the botanical oils directly into my hands and letting them absorb through the night.
If you try one of the above methods or products, and find that it is not suited for your face, use it elsewhere — the backs of your arms and elbows, your legs and knees, or even your feet. And make sure to follow with a healthy dose of moisturizer to keep that smoothness.
So whether you find yourself drawn to a facial brush or a pineapple mask, make sure to incorporate this important step into your regime so that your other treatments and moisturizers can function at their best!
